The IRMC permanent organizers (University of Florence, NYU Stern Salomon Center) in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management invite you to join the 12th Edition of the International Risk Management Conference in Milan, Italy, June 17-18, 2019. The conference will bring together leading experts from various academic disciplines and professionals for a two-day conference including three keynote plenary sessions, three parallel featured sessions and a professional workshop. The conference welcomes all relevant theoretical, methodological and empirical contributions.

[b]Keynote and Featured Speakers:[/b] Keynotes speakers of the 12th edition are Edward I. Altman (NYU Stern), Menachem Brenner (NYU Stern), Mark Carey (GARP Risk Institute), Michel Crouhy (Natixis), Jan Pieter Krahnen (Goethe University), Ron Masulis (University of New South Wales) and Andrea Sironi (SDA Bocconi).

[b]Best Paper Awards[/b] In collaboration with Classis Capital SIM, we are happy to announce the IRMC2019 BEST CONFERENCE PAPER AWARD and the YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD (€1500 each prize).

[b]Publication opportunities:[/b] [b]Special Issue of Journal of Credit Risk[/b] Editors-in-chief: Ashish Dev and Michael Gordy
Guest editors: Mark Carey (GARP) and Jay Jingzhi Huang (Penn State University)
The Journal of Credit Risk will publish a special issue devoted to IRMC2019. Authors of papers accepted to IRMC 2019 are invited to submit their papers to this special issue. No submission fee is required. The submission deadline (to be announced) will be subsequent to the conference, but we request a declaration of intent to submit by May 22, 2019.

[b]Special Issue of Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions[/b] Editor-in-chief: Santiago Carbo-Valverde
Guest editors: Vincenzo Capizzi (University of Piemonte Orientale) and Francesca Arnaboldi (University of Milan)
The Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions will publish a special issue devoted to IRMC2019. Authors of papers accepted to the IRMC2019 may submit their papers to JFMMI special issue, subsequent to the presentation at IRMC2019. Authors of accepted papers will be asked to declare their interest in the JFMI special issue by September 15, 2019 and to submit their manuscripts no later than December 15, 2019 via the World Scientific website at the following link: https://www.editorialmanager.com/jfmmi/Default.aspx?pg=login.asp&username
In submitting their papers, authors should clearly state that the paper should be considered for inclusion in the JFMMI Special Issue devoted to IRMC2019.

[b]Professional Workshop on Global Financial Challenges in Risk Management – June 18, 2019 (2:00PM-7:00PM)[/b] 1st roundtable discussion: “Financial and Credit Vulnerability in the Future” – Chair: M. Dallocchio
2nd roundtable discussion: “New Financial and Accounting Regulation: Challenges for Markets and Institutions” – Chair: G. Gabbi
In the context of the IRMC 12th Edition, the half-day workshop at SDA Bocconi School of Management will bring together policy-makers and risk management practitioners in an academic environment to illustrate, analyse and engage with challenges for markets and financial institutions. After two keynotes speeches, the roundtable discussions will explore the impact of new financial and accounting regulations and the increasing credit vulnerability of the financial system. Adopting an explicit practitioners’ perspective, the workshop will come to grip with the interplay of regulation and risk management in a period where risk assessment methodologies are becoming increasingly complex and closely intertwined with the regulatory and supervisory framework.
