We are pleased to inform you that the University of Bologna will host two consecutive FinGeo events in early 2026:
- the 4th FinGeo School (31 January – 1 February 2026);
- the 8th FinGeo International Seminar (2–3 February 2026).
The FinGeo School offers a two-day programme combining keynote lectures, field-based research activities, site visits and career-development sessions. It is designed for Ph.D. students, postdoctoral researchers and early-career scholars interested in financial geography.
The FinGeo Seminar invites contributions addressing current developments in financial geography. This edition is organised around the following overarching themes:
- Finance, Development, Social Businesses & Geography;
- Finance, Environmental and Social Sustainability & Geography;
- Technology Advances, Finance & Geography.
Topics of interest include, among others: FinTech, the AI–finance nexus, sustainable finance, biofinance, climate finance, the role of banking foundations, finance for social business, relational credit, philanthropy and development finance, approached from perspectives such as geography, political economy, political science, geopolitics, financial economics and development studies.
